THE PLACE

One of my absolute favorite spots in southern France is the Anse de Méjean. Situated near the lively city of Toulon on the enchanting French Riviera, this small, picturesque bay is a true gem. Located close to the famous "Sentier du Littoral," the coastal path winding along the Côte d'Azur, it offers a charming beach of sand and pebbles surrounded by a quaint, traditional fishing village. Its secluded location and lower visitor numbers compared to other beaches around Toulon make it a perfect retreat for those seeking peace and natural beauty. Especially outside the peak season, the Anse de Méjean reveals an almost untouched paradise.

THE ACCOMMODATION

For accommodation, I recommend an Airbnb option that I haven't personally tried yet since I've only done day trips to Anse. However, it looks truly fantastic. The apartment is situated right in Anse, accommodating up to 4 guests, and features a terrace overlooking the sea. I imagine evenings here to be nothing short of magical.

Prices: During peak season, the apartment for 4 people costs approximately 250 euros per night, plus cleaning fees, etc. For further details, you can find everything on Airbnb:

THE RESTAURANT

A visit to the restaurant "L’Escale" is an absolute must. The establishment is unmistakably located in the bay, right by the water. The friendly staff and the unique ambiance, where you can almost dip your feet in the water, make every visit special. While "L’Escale" may not offer Michelin-star cuisine, the dishes are consistently tasty, with fresh fish often on the menu.

Prices: A main course ranges between 20 and 30 euros, which is quite typical for Southern France. Opening hours: During the season, the restaurant is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00. On Fridays and Saturdays, the opening hours extend until 22:30.

TO DISCOVER

My tip couldn't be simpler: Settle down on the beach, relax, and enjoy the magnificent view or refresh yourselves in the clear water. Taking a stroll in the surroundings will lead you to more small, picturesque coves. Make sure to take the time to unwind, soak in the serene atmosphere, and fully savor the tranquil ambiance.

ACCESS

Reaching Anse de Méjean on foot is possible, although the access through steep paths might pose a bit of a challenge. While there are parking options nearby, space is limited. As the bay is away from major tourist amenities, visitors should come prepared with essentials like water. Nonetheless, the effort is undoubtedly rewarded with its stunning beauty!
